The Registration Interview
Entry onto our Register requires a personal interview, contacting referees, ID verification, QTS, GTCE registration and enhanced CRB disclosure checks. You will need to bring appropriate documentation to enable us to carry out these checks when we meet you.
Checks are undertaken as quickly as possibly to enable early commencement of work - frequently teachers already possess some of the necessary documentation. We need to establish your skills and strengths to enable appropriate placement in schools. As far as is possible we try to place teachers in schools local to their home.
To register with Cover you will need to be resident in England as a face to face interview is the first stage of this process. We have a rigorous vetting process for all teachers which has to be satisfied before any teacher is considered for work. What documents will I need to bring?
Please bring originals of the following:
1. CV: With work history in chronological order with no gaps, including details of any CPD received over the past 3 years.
2. Referees: Names, addresses & fax no's of 2 referees(inc last school/employer).
3. Identity: (2 forms one with photo)
Passport.
Driving licence.
Birth certificate.
Marriage certificate.
4. Addresses:
2 proofs of current address showing a date within 3 months (driving licence, bank statement, utility bill etc).
5. CRB: Please bring your old CRB, if we need to do a new one for you, you will be required to bring:
Fee of £36.
Photo ID (as above).
2 proofs of current address(as above).
5 years of past addresses, with postcodes and dates.
If another agency is doing a CRB, please get the form Ref No.
6. Qualifications: GTC registration card:
If no evidence from GTC:
Original teaching certificate.
Teacher number.(TRN)
7. N.I. Number.
8. Bank Details.
9. Other evidence:
D/T: safety certs.
Food tech: hygiene cert.
